I don't think it would be feasable for a laptop. Too much of the case is made out of metal because how thin/strong it is. If the laptop were to be made out of clear acrylic, it would be much thicker. Acrylic would also melt much easier.

That is just really cool! But I'm afraid it's only a fad. Too bad, I'd get one, if I were still into desktops. :D

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite m30
which in my opinion is freakin' ugly
The battery life is also really poor
to the 10 min or less mark now

so its pretty much become a static laptop, other than around the house.

I would so try that if I had a plastic vacuum former. you could take the metal pieces off the old case and melt/glue them into the new, clear one. :D

This comes up every once in a while, usually after the movie "Hackers" is re-run somewhere. Angelina Jolie ("Crash Override") had a clear plastic laptop in the movie, iirc.

Why don't you buy a new one or even do the same thing I did with my crappy averatec laptop?

You probably must be wondering what I did... well...

Lets only say my dog had an exotic meal... made mainly by plastic and some eletronic components... hehehe.

Actually, I'm kidding.... except that my dog really ate my computer! That was serious... I've even opened a thread about it here:

Angelina's character was Acid Burn, The guy Dade was Crash Override and it was he who had the clear cased laptop. Any clue who made the one from the movie?

I wish they made protective cases like the clear red and blue ones for macbooks.
