well im repainting my notebook again because i hate the dark blue i tried before and it started to fade so i bought Rustoleum black enamel spray paint, and lets just say it did not turn out right. each layer was pretty thick and when i was on my third layer it started to wrinkle like a *****!

i was making it two tone with gloss black and a metallic silver. the silver part looked great but everything has to be redone because of the black  :( :(

so can anyone recommend a specific brand/spray paint for gloss black and metallic silver that also has a quick drying time (also spray paint for plastic) also include the clear coat

also what grit sand paper should i use in between coats?

well from the lack of replies from this site i just went and got any black spray paint and went for it. but one thing that was disappointing was that i could only find matte or satin Clear and not Clear Gloss, but it looks just as good without the fingerprints

covered the compaq logo hole with Bondo and
sanded with 80 grit then wet sanded with 400 grit
then 2 layers of primer then wet sanded with 400 grit
then 3 layers of gloss black with wet sanding 400 grit in between each layer
    then 3 coats of clear
then 2 coats of silver (strips)
then 1 clear coat and then wet sanding 400 grit
    then 1 final Clear coat

I like how the wallpaper and the notebook match. That was a cool idea!

I like the stripes with the wallpaper! VERY unique! I have never seen anything like that before! Nicely done!

well its been a few days and well there have been some negative results..
although the CLEAR spray paint was Matte it was still prone to fingerprints, and on the left side of the touchpad you can tell that the heat of the hard drive is doing something to the clear paint, it seems to become lighter (you can see what i mean in one of the pictures).

oddly enough the touchpad was not affected by the heat anyway even though you can feel the heat when using it. but the touchpad was not covered with clear but acrylic, so i guess that's what im going to have to use.
