ask Jack53, he had paint his xps1530.
you may have to sand the lid & paint it with some color then graffiti it.
post us some pic when you done :)

the thing i was think was that graffiti markers like go onto walls and glass and all different surfaces mad easily. Also, if i draw on a the trackpad, would that screw up the accuracy of it?

Theoretically, no. A lot of people use aftermarket accessories on their trackpads to improve texture. The Alienware m15x even comes with two different stickers you can apply over the top.

Unless you are applying a very thick amount of paint/marker to the trackpad, I cannot imagine any loss of accuracy. No guarantees, of course.

I'd apply the design, then coat with clear coat so it doesn't wear/fade.

As far as touchpad accuracy hah, marker will not do anything to effect its performance. I have 27 layers of paint on my touchpad, 10 of which are clear coat, and the others have suspended variagated flake in it.
My touchpad has literally 1/16th of an inch of paint on it with metal leafings and my touchpad is as accurate as it as without any paint on it.

For painting, you would need to sand the system, but if you are doing marker, than you do not have to. If they are permanent markers than all you need to do is make the design and thats all.

If you wanted, the most you would have to do is get a can of good clear spraypaint and than spray 1-2 layers ontop of the final design and that will protect the surface, and keep the marker from fading

    Agreed with K-TRON.

I personally like the "graffiti" look when done right as it can really add a personal touch to your laptop and make it rather unique.

Please post some pics when you are finished, I am sure we would all like to see it.

By the time I heard sanding on the laptop, that sort of shruds my shoulder. If you are going to do it, provide us with pictures. :D

Anyone tried spray painting logos onto laptops? I would think that would look really cool.

That sometimes works, it's generally not "long term durable" unless its done right. It can look very cool though.
