What do you guys know about xoticpc.com? My cousin is thinking of buying a Sager NP5760 from them and he wants to know how their custom painting is. Has anybody have experience with them? Thanks in advance, Peace.

IF you want a custom painted rig go to www.smoothcreations.com as well. I know Smooth does great work and they sell the same laptops as other vendors (Clevos and such). Either route should be fine.

Xotic has great custom paint jobs [of course not themselves, from a 3rd party like mostly everyone else].
here are some great examples:

smooth creations does offer the NP5760 with custom paint job but it's expensive :s
here's a thread about a hel 80 xoticpc did. Also xoticpc.com doesn't do their own paint jobs, they outsource to some company, they won't say who. But I'm sure you can message Justin and ask him if he has any pictures of previous NP5760's that they may have had painted. -
Sounds good.

Also, according to my correspondence with Justin, xotic's service doesn't paint the custom graphics, if that's what you want done. They print out a vinyl (sticker) of the graphics, then paint a base coat to match the background of that vinyl. They apply it over top of the paint and then apply a clear coat. To me, there's one drawback with this and it is that you can see the edge lines of the vinyl sticker. Take a look at the thread that Gophn referenced and you'll see what I mean.

Smooth does awesome paint . . .expensive? yes. but you are commissioning a work of art.
