    After the Vivobook first leaked yesterday, AMD has officially revealed its AMD Radeon HD 8000M-Series. The new GPUs will offer AMD's latest 27nm GCN along with a slew of premium features, and are expected to hit shelves as early as Q1 of 2013.

    wow there really pumping these put on both sides.. makes you kinda mad if you went with there current high end gpu...
    Guess it was bound to happen sooner or later... pumping out gpus like its desktop counter part..

    At least you are safe with your system- it will take 4-5 years before you upgrade your muscle GPUs. Then it would GTX 980Ms.

    Is it just me, or is it odd that an AMD 8870 (which, from the name, would seem to be at the top-end of the 8000 series) is being compared to the 650m, which is definitely in the middle of the pack? Or are these meant to compete at the mid-range level only?

    its not odd... its that it appears from everything so far that the 8770m is exactly the same 7870m

    I think it is just another rebranding although they say the architecture is different.

    we will just have to wait and see :). But i doubt the performance increase will be as good as with 7970M.
