The market for 15-inch laptops might be pretty packed, but the ASUS N53JF-XE1 with its powerful Intel Core i5 processor and Nvidia GeForce GT 425M graphics packs more punch than the competition. Did we mention it also has a 1080p screen? Read our review to find out more.

Excellent review, Jerry.
The N53F is indeed an attractive 15.6" notebook. The #1 feature IMO is the 1920x1080 screen resolution -- you can comfortably use two windows side-by-side with that kind of resolution and there is plenty of vertical space to read Word/Excel files and web pages without having to scroll every five seconds. The 1366x768 resolution that most 15.6" and under notebooks come with is downright pathetic and a productivity killer.
And on top of that, the higher resolution panels tend to have higher quality than run-of-the-mill low-resolution panels, which is the case with the N53F.
Despite the downsides (keyboard, battery life), the N53F is quite recommendable. The only other machine I can think of that might beat it is the Dell XPS 15, though I have not read a review of that yet. -
Ahbeyvuhgehduh Lost in contemplation....
Hmm ... poor keyboard and battery life kinda kill it for me personally. Otherwise it looks like a very good machine - the display is especially attractive.

I tend to notice keyboard flex and mushy feedback more than the average consumer. That said, I know we have readers who are even more sensitive to keyboard flex/bounce than I am so I have to call it out when I see/feel it.
The 1080p resolution is absolutely wonderful. The color fidelity, brightness and viewing angles are only average, but you'll have a hard time finding another 15-inch notebook with a 1080p screen and this level of performance for less money. -
The Dell XPS's no longer offer FHD screens, which is the deal breaker for myself and others. This looks pretty nice... wonder what it will be like with a Sandy Bridge refresh.

Can anyone tell me how much Battery Life i would get if i got a 9 cell battery for it? Also do you have any idea if it will stick out? (ASUS N53JF)
