    Typo on the resolution of the 18.4".

    18,080p would stop people whining about losing vertical screen rez with 16:9 though. :D

    Somehow the external look on the 18.4" model does not appeal to me very much, although I must admit the components look pretty good for the price.

    What's new about the AS7745? HD+ res (probably poor to average quality). 2xHD. Quad-core + 1GB(?)GPU. We've had these round for over half a year now from all makes. Doesn't look like anything exciting...

    ....let alone anything I'd Aspire to own (sorry)

    You think that they made the keys on the 18.4'' small enough? Seems like a lot of wasted room.

    In other news, Acer says they will overtake HP by the end of the year ( link). I do think that they have a shot to do it, with all of the models they have coming out and the diversity in their product line, but I don't think they will pass HP. HP has also responded well to what customers want and I don't know if Acer can shake the "budget laptop" label that most consumers put on them.
