Acer Recalls 22,000 Notebooks Due to Burn Hazard
    [IMG]
The US CPSC and Acer have announced a voluntary recall for certain Acer Aspire notebook computers due to a potential burn hazard. Apparently, the internal microphone wire under the palm rest can short circuit and overheat, causing the burn hazard. The recalled notebook models are as follows:

    Acer Aspire:

    • AS3410/AS3410T
    • AS3810T/AS3810TG/AS3810TZ/AS3810TZG

These notebooks are thin-and-light units with 13.3-inch displays. They were sold from June 2009 through October 2009 for between $650 and $1,150.

Customers are advised to stop using the notebooks if they have one and contact Acer immediately for a free replacement. Please see the CPSC page here for contact info.
