Acer and ASUS set high netbook sales targets for '09

ASUS, also feeling a boost from its newly-introduced Eee PC 900HA and 100HA netbooks, is expecting to ship 7.1 to 7.3 million units in 2009.

I would be cautious about projecting million per month sales based on 500,000 in December, which is traditionally a bumper month for sales.
However, there is a big potential demand for netbooks in the less affluent countries where lower cost and good battery time make them an attractive alternative to notebooks.

Not unless the netbook market starts offering unique options from company to company.
More and more manufacturers are putting out their version of the same netbook making each company's share of the consumers that much smaller. -
