Ahbeyvuhgehduh Lost in contemplation....
Hmm ... not a bad deal ... I wonder if Dell has fixed the screen hinge issue in their production process now or these would be older models they are trying to liquidate that still have the problem?

Sounds like evidence of an upcoming refresh. Time to push out the current stock...and make way for the new goods

this deal has been around since black friday...... plus there are several threads on the Notebook and Tech Bargains section

Great deal unless you live in Canada - where it's $799 despite a higher dollar...
-
I got my m11x in late nov early dec and the hinges were perfect. I used and abused it for a while then went back to the t400. But as it stands my mom is having zero issues with it.
Nah, they have had deals off and on since black friday. Same basic deal, seems like they are just trying to move stock. I must admit Im surprised they still have c2d models left. -
899 euros here in Belgium, despite the 1.4dollars = 1 ratio. Even canada prices seem awesome to us.
There aren't such great sales in Belgium in general. The only way to buy a laptop for a decent price here is to wait for dump prices in webstores (not so convenient to get a decent warranty).
Back to this m11x, I think these low prices are a sign of a refresh, and hopefully with the fixed hinges (they announced they were gonna fix this problem by march right?). I can't wait to see battery results with SB cpu's. -
Anyone in the states willing to buy one of these and ship it to canada? (I'll pay for everything)

id love to have t his notebook.. i just want it to play world of warcraft and not play choppy video like my brothers laptop does.. i want it to play youtube videos with ease as well as gaming movies and video

I suspect part of the reason to put it here is to have it show up on the front page.

I was seriously looking at the M11x as well but was turned off at the fact it has a fixed battery. It's suppose to be ultra portable powerful pc and their battery life playing games is just 2 hours. I would of jumped on it if we could of bought extra batteries to carry around for longer playing. Quite disappointing.

Just buy a universal external battery pack. You charge it up, and then it can power any ac -appliance (cellphone, laptop, tv, ect). It can even be used as a UPS/voltage regulator/surge protector if you have unreliable power coming into an expensive (TV) or something of that nature.

Hey that's a really good idea waterwizard. I find most regular notebooks or netbooks are lacking the power and versatility that I am looking for. That's why the M11x would be the perfect choice for my needs.
Thanks again for the tip!! -
How much longer is this deal going for? I would like to pick up a core 2 duo model for 599 while the deal is still going.
-

It just says "Limited Time Offer!" on Dell's website. But this deal has been going on for a while. I still felt as though it needed to be written, though, since it is still a great deal and all

Yea so I just bought this computer last night. I couldn't afford to get the 250 gig hard drive. But I did get 4 gigs of ram since with 8 there isn't much of a difference. Overall I'd like to have a better proccesor but this should be ok. I'm only going to be playing Wow, MW2, black ops and other less demanding games on it. I bought this computer with a discount that my dad had and the online discount so I payed 645 dollars for it without tax and 686 with tax. I saved 211 dollars in total which is not bad. Almost a steal for such a nice computer.
Let me know if you have any questions if you planning to buy this computer -
Unlike the Core i version of the M11x, this Core 2 version can NOT run Nvidia's normal drivers, so I would NOT get it, unless you don't care about games.
-
ARE YOU ING SERIOUS I JUST BOUGHT IT! Well I kinda knew that it was going to be a problem at first and it will be able to run games and there are ways to easily get the drivers directions to that are on the forums.
-
Yeah, I'm not sure what the moding situation is with it-maybe it's possible to use modded drivers or something, just Nvidia's stock drivers won't work.
-
Yea its modded drivers but it's a minor problem that if dell could actually fix while taking a

Regarding hinge issue
Dell released update on Hinge issue for M11x - 01/24/11 -
I heard that this may have been faked. Maybe not. If not thats pretty good knowing that if my hinges break it'll be free to replace it.
