Will it sell? I know it will to impulse buyers with lots of money!

A group of ten people from my office each ordered one on the day of its announcement. The only guy I talked to about it received his --- smashed to smithereens. Outer box was fine but inside it was completely broken.

He's now considering canceling his order instead of asking for a redo. The moral: I think the longer people think about this, the less likely they will be to buy.

Quite frankly, I would rather have a base Macbook -- even if if were the same price as an MBA! It just sacrifices too much. (I do hope to play with one soon though.)

Java programs suck. That's a testament to how difficult it is to make multi-platform programs.

Me thinks you don't know much about Java.

The best IDE (also most widely used) is written in Java.

EEE PC > MBA...Why buy a thin computer? If you want something that is portable an extra couple ounces does not KILL your wrist. When you think of portable you think of small form factor, not a slimmed down full size. It is like me cutting off the bottom half of my asus and calling it a portable laptop. It is no more easier to carry than the full size one, it just now has horrible performance. Another Mac blunder...if it would have been a 8-10" screen I would have ordered one the first day, because then its current specs would kick ass.

Hey...everyone gets their shot at the mac, this one just doesnt cut it...next year I hope they learn, maybe they will get a convert :)

Great slim design, but dam, the MacBook Air is a complete joke. It lacks a lot of important things and its more expensive than the already "too dam expensive" MacBooks. Therefore, this was kind of pointless to release, as it's really doing nothing for Apple...
Apple, haven't you heard of the term "price drop"???? Geez...
