Asus has always fancied itself as a bit of a fashionista, so they're heading to Las Vegas to show off their stuff. But we're not talking about CES, they're going to the Project Fashion Show to strut with the top clothes designers of the world next week.

A scene from the Project Fashion Show in Las Vegas

Asus will apparently be showing off its fashion collection line of notebooks including the ASUS-Lamborghini VX2, the pink leather S6Fm and the GPS integrated 13.3" U3 notebook. Asus really wants to make a statement that it's out to set the fashion and design standard for notebooks. Appealing to the fashion conscious folks that attend this convention in Las Vegas is one approach for doing that.

The Asus Lambo notebook will be on display at the Project Fashion Show

In addition to showing off their pretty notebooks, Asus will sponsor six "Internet lunches" where guests will have free access to the Internet on Asus laptops so they can chow down, surf the web, and see just how fashionable those Asus laptops can be.

And so Asus will be the first notebook company to attend a clothing fashion show. All a bit weird? Well maybe, but Asus always did march to a bit of a different beat. Now if they could just get back to launching that Eee PC on time...

Nice info Andrew, but may I ask why those Lambo laptops are insanely expensive? I don't see anything really special about them in their specs...

I think it's because of the Lambo brand itself.

Asus is really getting more and more aggressive marketing wise. I like it.

The lambo and ferrari laptops are the best example of branding in the notebook industry. Theyre nothing special machines with a brand that adds 0's to the price
