Wow finally a tablet with an optical drive and keyboard, still though I checked the website and it says it comes in at 5.5 lbs, which is a little hefty for a tablet, still though I'm looking forward to review to see how battery life / processing power fares
-
Is it just me or is that DAMN cheap for its specs. There must be some kind of major downfall
-
It's very cheap. We're slated to get a unit at our Tablet site, so check for a review there in a few weeks. www.bargainTabletPC.com

the price point on this is awesome, if I were a student I'd seriously consider buying this due to the price point and Tablet/Notebook combo. Wireless 802.11g too. Bill Gates mythical $1000 Tablet is here thanks to Averatec. And who would have known, it's a notebook too!

The original press release had a couple of errors, including the weight, but Averatec is getting that corrected now. It weighs 5.5lbs with the battery.
We posted a photo overview of the C3500 on WhatIsNew. You can see close-ups of how the pen is stored next to the display, touchpad, connectors, etc.
Brian, at least as of yesterday afternoon it sounded like Averatec had already shipped your sample off to you. Enjoy it! Be sure to let us know when you get the review posted.
