UPDATE from Dell: Due to the overwhelming response to our offer, the offer is over for all Inspiron notebooks
Starting October 19 at 6:00 a.m. Central Standard Time you can get $750 off a Dell Inspiron valued at $1499 or above. That's almost half off of a system. I don't need another laptop, but I think I'll buy one just for the heck of it at this price! You can get a Dell Inspiron for $750 off by using coupon code "ZD5$P0NS954P16" at checkout. The offer ends at 6:00 a.m. on October 20, but last time they had this type of deal they pulled it in the afternoon so it might be best to jump in early if you decide to buy.
According to the Dell Marketing team this offer "May not be combinable with Deals of the Week, dollars off, percentages off or select other promotions. Only one coupon may be applied per cart at checkout."
You can of course configure a Dell Inspiron notebook so that it is cheaper, so the closer you get the price to $1499 the cheaper you are going to get an Inspiron. Just think, you can get a notebook that costs regularly $1499 for $750. That's 50% off. Trust me, the deal will not get any sweeter than this so for all of those that ask "will there be a better deal" the answer is no and it might be time to start that Christmas shopping early!

Can you use this coupon ontop of the student discount dell have. Thanx again for the great update on the deal.
thietlong -
After the 500 dollar thing last week, I'm definitely not missing out on this one.
Keep my DV1000 or get an Inspiron with an extra modular battery and an ATI 9600 128mb for the same price? Decisions, decisions. -
I just want to check again regarding this coupon. So you can't use this coupon until the clock strike 6 officially tomorrow then. Cuz I try it earlier and it gives me a message that the coupon is expired. Thanx in advance for the feedback.

Has anyone been able to confirm the above? I would very much like to get an Inspiron 9100, but it would be a little out of my price range if they remove the current promotion.
Thanks,
James

It won't work until 6 a.m. Central Standard Time, which is 7 a.m. Eastern Standard Time or 5 a.m. Mountain / Pacific time.
I don't know of a Dell student discount...so I'm not sure what you'd be referring too. HP has a student discount, not Dell.
Yeah, I'm sure this deal is going to have lots of people wondering if they should save money and get a Dell even if the heart was set on something else...well, that's what Dell is hoping anyway! -
Thanks again for posting this abaxter.
I was thinking Dell must be crazy to offer such a discount, but then I thought of my situation... if I didnt see this ad, then in the next 2 or 3 days I (being a price-sensitive bloke) was going to purchase two HP Pavilion ZT3000's... So this ad, if true, is going to convert two heritics to the followers of mr Dell. -
Well my school have a site where pretty much it directly link to the dell site and it comes out to be around 6% or so of a 1600 dollar laptop. I am just a little uncertain to whether or not this 6% could be added on top of the 750. I guess I just have to wait till tomorrow to check it out. As far as the 10 and 15% goes, I guess once we enter the coupon code, those percent discount would probably be eliminated right? Thanx again for the help.
thietlong -
uh, i think you are getting too excited.
This deal is supposed to start at 6am CST, which is still about 4.5 hours from now. (I guess I'll be sleeping only a little tonight!)
-
I was wondering if anyone had any luck with the $750 Dell coupon? I have been trying to buy a Inspiron 9100 since 9:00 tonight. When I enter it, it does not show a error or anything. But it will not subtract from the total. I also tried to use the one yesterday for 30% off. It was actully a better deal for the 9100, but it would not go through either, and of course after reaching someone in customer support it was already expired.
Is it me or what??? -
So...how many can you buy using this code? I'm sure it's seperate purchases to work, but is there a limit to how many times a single individual can purchase a notebook and use the code? Just curious[
]

I'm new here -
You can only use the coupon once (for one purchase) so you can't buy 'em out!
-
Yep, I test the deal around 6 or so and it works fine. For how long is another question cuz they can just pull the plug on this one like they did to that previous 500 dollar one last week. Still thinking on whether or not to get a Dell 600 model but their tech support is really giving me a bad feel to it. Anybody have a 600 with smooth sailing so far from Dell(without going through their tech)? Thanx in advance.
thietlong -
This is a sweet deal. I gave this coupon to a friend who picked up a stacked 8600 for $1000.
Editor in Chief http://www.bargainPDA.com and http://www.SPOTstop.com -
u shld get the dell 700 instead of the 600. the 600 is coming to an end already i believe.
-
Yay, got a new inspiron (2nd time!) Cancelled other order and am now getting a nicely stacked Inspiron: 1.5 ghz centrino, 512 ram, DVD/CD RW, 40 gig harddrive, 128 mb ATI M 9600 TurboPro, Extra Battery, Dell 1350 Wireless Card. All for 1k flat! Thats before the 49 dollar shipping rebate too.
Tips: Use a preferred account if you can get 0 interest for at least a month. That takes 2% off the price. Also try to use fatwallet.com's link for 3.0% cashback. It can't hurt to try (though with a deal this good I doubt it matters).
Try to stay near 1500 to maximize your savings (most upgrades are really unnecessary). If you're planning on going portable, get an extra battery because inspiron 8600 batteries only last 300 charges and other batteries only last 500, so you'll probably need 2 for more than 2 years of portable use.
The 7200 rpm harddrive only makes things 20% faster. And the DVD RW is seriously overpriced. You can get a USB 2.0 enclosure for 30 bucks off newegg along with a nice internal PC drive to put inside it for another 50, 60 bucks. Burning stuff is not something you do while on the run anyways.
Buy Buy Buy! -
Great deal!
This must not be true for Canada eh? I had problems entering the coupon. Let me know if anyone has the info.
Thanks,
SP -

The offer is only good for "Home Customers".
-
Tell us what message you get when you try to use the coupon and we could help you out more
-
AWESOME ... Just picked up a 700m for 1050$$ (incl tax and shipping) at 7:00am CST [
]... It's really true after all.
-
Thanks. I will try it from another computer and see what happens. I have checked and double checked to make sure I have the correct coupon code and I am entering it in from dell.com home. Thanks again, I will keep trying.
-
I get the message "Coupon Error" We are unable to process the coupon at this time. Please try again later.
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. -
You need to make sure you are on the Dell.com "Home Site" and not Dell "Small Business" also make sure you are using the correct coupon code:
ZD5$P0NS954P16
and the total price of your laptop is over $1499. I just bought an Inspiron 600m that was $1750 for $1000 so I know this code works if you follow the right steps!
If it continues to not work try using a different computer and Internet browser if you can just in case there is some weirdness going on there. -
They just took off the Inspiron 9100 for their lineup...???
It's still on their business lineup, but they just removed it from Home & Office lineup. As well, the code didn't seem to work for the Business ones...

I'm new here -
If the coupon code isn't working try following this link
DELLNotebookSpecials.LimitedTimeOffer!
and then using it, although it shouldn't matter how you get to the site.
Remember, the coupon DOES NOT WORK FOR DELL SMALL BUSINESS.
Odd that the 9100 is gone...maybe they were losing too much money on that oneLast edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015 -
it says (affiliate online offer only)
what does that mean??? does it really work??? -
help me!!1[

IM TORN!!!!!!!!!
my first plan was to get a laptop during thanksgiving so there will be some discounts...
because of this offer i'm tempted to get it now....
give me suggestions asap!!!!!!!!!! -
Update guys, the Inspiron 700m and 8600 and 9100 have been pulled from this deal...you're out of luck if you wanted those machines.
It says affiliate online offer only, but if you look at the sub-total you'll see the amount is taken out.

shux im too late..........[

The coupon indeed does work, though unfortunatly doesnt stack with ANY other kind of discount (with the exception of mail-in-rebates it seems, as the "$45 off shipping" rebate is still listed on my order)
I purchased a souped-up 8600 for $1100 and got my ex-gf to buy a 600m for $790.
As far as the sweet-spot, it seems that the 600m is a hella deal, you can get basically top-of-the-line and it peaks out at the $1500 mark, meaning you get your 50% discount. Good deal!
And for a portable laptop, I do recomend the 600m over the 700m, as you can get a higher resolution screen with the 600m.

been trying all varieties of Inspiron all afternoon with no success in using coupon--must be doing something wrong
-
All I can say is that I know several people who have used it. I even applied it once to a 700m, almost bought one for no good reason. At this point though, it looks like they've blocked useage for almost all models.

UPDATE - More Exclusions coming soon!!!
To address these growing concerns, as of 6:00pm cst this afternoon, this promotion will no longer be available for Inspiron 5160 and Inspiron 600m. The offer remains available on Dell Inspiron 1150 and Inspiron XPS systems.

This website is the best for notebooks and related comment. i never send comments like this, but i am so impressed with this site that i really want to say a couple of good things about it. i have had this site as my homepage for the last month and i just got a $750 discount on a dell inspiron thanks to this site. in addition, i have read very good reviews and extremely good member reviews and opinions that kept me from buying a notebook recently. the member reviews on this site pointed out some real shortfalls with the current media center notebooks available today. i am still looking for a notebook that will be a portable media center and it should happen soon, based on waht i read on this site. thanks to abaxter for her very timely email about the dell discount and thanks to the members of this site for saying things the way they are.
-
God I hate dell. When it say expires at 6, it expires right on the clock. I didn't have enough time to get my stupid dell prefered card through before they completey took out the 600 deal. Great, now I am left with 1150 for a choice...some choice that is.

The offer has ended for all Inspiron notebooks except the XPS at this point.
-
I simply do not understand how they have an offer that specifically states it will end at 6AM 20 Nov and then they just decide to cancel it early. Are they just hell bent on pissing people off? Well, it worked on me. I sent my complaint to their customer service department and would encourage others to do the same.
-
Yeah I agree. I think the way the set up these deals are a joke. The best reason that they can come up with is that they are getting bad customer review because of long delay...I am pretty sure this is the least of their worries since the number of people they tick off from ditching the deals half way will easily outnumbered their so call "delayed customer". That's twice in 2 weeks have Dell back out of their so call one in a lifetime deal halfway through the day. If you going to have a sale, carry it through or else don't bother with this fake crap they doing.[

Later my older married son was able to get a 600 at 5:45pm that was close.

You can check back in a week or so to see what other crazy stunts dell would try next. Most likely by Thanksgiving and Christmas, there will be plenty of deals lining up from other manufacturers as well. Good Luck with the search then.

For those of you disappointed that Dell closed up shop early, tough luck. Does the saying, "while supplies last" mean anything to you? So many people thought this was such an unbelievable deal (I have no idea how Dell made any money off this) that they quickly realized that if they did not start disabling some systems they would not have the ability to build and ship these systems anytime before next year. Next time, when you see something that you really want, don't hesitate for so long.
Also, I've never had any problem with Dell shipping. More often than not, they overestimate the ship date and I end up with a delivery before I realized it was out of production.
Thanks again -
hmmm
I noticed the 9100 disappeared from the canadian and american dell sites
(too bad they don't have the $750 deals for canada! why why why!)
but the rep said that the 9100 is now discontinued
just like that
I assume that 9200 will be out soon?
-
I ended up buying an Inspiron 600m with this offer:
- Inspiron 600m: Pentium® M Processor 725(1.60GHz/400MHz FSB) 14.1-in SXGA+, 32MB Video, Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition, 512MB RAM, 40GB HD.
Total cost was $1000...can't complain since it would have been $1750!
Heck, I just want to try this laptop out, I don't think I'll keep it for long other than to review it and see if I like it. Then it's off to eBay...unless I really like it that is []
Dell will have more offers I'm sure but I don't know if they'll match this again soon. It'll be interesting to see how long it is before more offers come around. And remember folks, this offer was pulled early but Dell does disclaim "while supplies last" and that the offer can expire at any time so it really is the early bird getting the worm with these offers. -
Just to give everyone an update, the reason why Dell was offloading those laptops can be found here:
http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20041020-4335.html
btw I'm from Canada, but I managed to get my hands on a 700m from Dell had to pull some magic but I managed.
If anyone is still looking for a deal similar just check ebay, people went on a buying frenzy!
Cheers
