Dell Introduces Special Edition Studio 15
Dell introduced a limited run Special Edition version of its Studio 15 notebook today. The most noticeable difference versus a standard Studio 15 is the "Black Vapor" exterior finish. Other than that, the Special Edition version has the same specifications as the standard Studio 15. It comes standard with a higher-resolution 15.4" display (1440x900 pixels) with LED backlighting. The three configurations range from $799 - $949 and are available directly from Dell.

Basically the only difference is the outside look.

Is this the same thing??
I posted this on Tech Bargains back on 2/19/09!
Maybe this was an early sale or something, before the official release?

Yeah, I was about to say that this was posted early - interesting that you got an early sneak-peek at it
It does look better than the stock Studio though. Not bad. -
Good job Cin, you beat everyone else by two weeks rofl.

Why can't I find this on dell.com without using Chaz's link?

I had a hell of a time finding the thing on Dell's website. Go to Dell's Home & Home Office main page:
http://www.dell.com/content/products/category.aspx/notebooks?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&~ck=mn
Then mouse over the Laptops & Mini menu, and it should be under there. -
Man.. That thing is awesome
-
lol, and don't forget to spin around twice and do a handstand and it should then show up on the website. Sheesh, why some retail websites are so hard to find something makes you wonder if their aim really is to sell things.

Not if the build quality is not good.
Those consumer shiny laptops never impress me. Average build quality.
Dell did a good job with the Inspiron 1520. Too bad, people choose to give up quality over weight.
