    OMG you could cache the entire OS plus all your programs on the RAM and still have enough left over. I wonder how many years it would take before cheap laptops would have that much ram.

    Well since it costs 10 grand for the 32gb upgrade, I would say a very very very long time.

    As long as you never shut the thing down you'd never even need an SSD. RAM access time and transfer speed still >>> SSD.

    Just plug the thing into a UPS, then you've got onboard battery and offboard battery reserves ;).
