Fujitsu has announced a few updates to its current line of notebooks that should be arriving in the U.S. next month. The ultra cool Fujitsu LifeBook P1510D pseudo Tablet device, and an update to their popular S6000 13.3" screen series in the form of the LifeBook S6240, and finally the AMD Turion 64 powered 13.3" screen Fujitsu LifeBook S2110.
All three of these notebooks should be available in mid-August of 2005. It has been 2 years since the P1000 series has had an update, so the P1510 is long overdue and the specs are a vast improvement over the old P1120. The S6240 should be as popular as it's predecessor, the S6231; a light weight 13.3" screen notebook with excellent build, looks, screenand battery life. You can choosethe S2110 if you prefer an AMD Turion 64 processor as it's essentially the same as the S6240 in its design and build but sports an AMD platform instead of Pentium M. Below are specs and pictures of these August release notebooks.

The 6321 is a sweet laptop, It would be my choice for an ultraportable if I needed one.
Most of their models are portable it seems.. -
So the S series with Turion MT can last longer than the Intel Sonoma counterpart. I can't wait to see the performance of the two side by side.
Maybe this is a better Turion-based light laptop than the HP Livestrong L2000 when compared with Compaq V2000 series in battery life, heat dissipation and raw speed.
Great update news.
Well, it seems that the current S2020 and S6231 are very different. The S2020 is weighted from 3.85 - 4.3 lb, while the S6231 is about 3.6 - 4.0 lbs. Also the S2020 is thicker.
Does Fujitsui make a major revision of the S2000 series in the new S2110 take advantage of the Turion MT to allow it to be on par with the S6231/S6241?? -
I want to know what "ultra low cost" is for the S2110.......
-
Man I like Fujitsu notebooks. 2MB Max memory on each is a little low though, don't you think?
Off topic: Photographers observation: The S2110 keyboard reflection is fake. Mirrors don't work that way. -
Wow, the turion actually has more battery life than the pentium M. Man i want one. And the radeon should be slightly better than the intel 900.
-
are these all new models?
-
They're all updates to current product lines.
-
very disappointing update to S series...
I own s6231 which I got 8 month ago and what's this? same design. which is good no doubt, but they should have made some changes. No bluetooth??? this is 2005 - year of bluetooth. The battery life is worse then on s6231 for a little power gain, but who needs extra power when this is clearly not a desktop replacement. Finally, where is the Wide Screen? 13.3 XGA is so 2003... Fujitsu does not listen to users, they simply ignore what's going on around them... I guess I will have to look elsewhere for my upgrade. So, the only plus is that Turion model because it's cheaper, other then that I would suggest you look somewhere else.
btw, they already list new specs/prices on their website and for instance Turion model costs the same with the specs I got 8 month ago for s6231 from newegg. Which is actually great for me because I feel that my laptop is still brand new
