From this article:
"The 13-pound NotePAC is based on an Intel Core Duo processor, runs Linux, and tolerates rain, blowing dirt, temperatures well below zero, and atmospheric explosives, Kontron claims."
Just look at that monster. Can you imagine unfurling this behemoth in class? You literally could toss it like a football in a lecture hall, then sit down, log on to the internet, and continue playing in a fantasy league.
I may get one and beat my brother over the head with it.

I'm just waiting for them to rebrand that as a Jeep or Hummer and try selling it at one of those survival camp stores (like R.E.I, etc)....
I swear that thing looks like a steroid-abusing Powerbook Duo from way back when. -
Metamorphical Good computer user
That ain't linux on the screen there. That's a military machine. Can't think of anyone or thing else that would have use for a machine like that.

I have been carrying my 13 pound notebook around for over 6 months now. Glad I have a good Kensington backpack

It's a good thing the military finally has a portable computer that can run XP home and norton internet security.

When I first saw this on engadget, I thought, is this a blast from the past? It has gray plastic on it which makes it look like an 80s machine.

This is perfect for those of us who still use these.
