.. ooh I think the lingerie has its benefits un-disputed
. Nevertheless, if one decides to shell the dough, its a near perfect gift.

I saw this weirdly styled laptop at CeBIT, a few pictures and an article here http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2814
-
Kinda ugly... But then again, I'm not a lady. Ladies- Is it just a guy thing, or is that ugly as hell?
-
It's hideous and stupid.
Then again, your average female is stupid and would pay for that piece of ****. -
Average female is average, not stupid.
The idea of easily changeable skins is cool, but a laptop with a built-in handle that you carry like a bag is stupid. Also, the skins in the intro aren't super, but at least they're not like SOME girly laptop manufacturers that make all their skins animal-themed (leopard, zebra, tiger). I think I'd get a couple and paint them, without risking to permanently damage the laptop when the paint inevitably begins to chip off. -
that's a really large laptop for a really small screen.
what is UMTS?
and why does their slogan seem to be ""It's all about the inside"? Obviously the outside is the only thing that matters here -
UMTS is a new cell phone standard or something in this regard in Europe. Multimedia stuff, internet and such is much easier accessible as far as I know.
It's their slogan b/c they seem to be catering to a European audience. That means your slogan has to sound cool and it has to be English, but it doesn't necessarily have to make sense. It's not quite as bad as in Asia though (I've seen some messed up English sentences on Japanese products). -
I don't think that its just a guy thing. I think that laptop is very odd looking. (I prefer ThinkPad's
.)
Don't call us stupid, we are not stupid
and I wouldn't pay for that, I only pay for a ThinkPad.

I think the laptop is really cool for its purpose and its definitely a statement for most women. For once, the geeks like me will have a fine topic to talk with bombshell carrying one of those...
...
-
you're the ones categorizing yourself as 'average'. and, yes, the 'average' woman knows jack **** about computers and will pay far too much money for anything considered 'fashionable'
-
Obviously Dragonesse is an immature juvenile who spent the better part of his life rejected by female members thus could only fantasize to ever been in their company by periodically [edit] while watching his favorite video game. Due to his inability to have any relationship with a female or failure to gain their attention in the least, Dragonesse's psychosis imploded caused by a manifestation of inferior complex which produced his resentment towards women and further delegating himself with the occupation of downloading porn, trolling the web and over excessive [edit] while watching his favorite video game. Observe how he insults women and yet labels himself as "Dragonesse."
As for the laptop, I personally believe it wouldn't be that much of a success with women. First the clam shell type have a very impractical design. it's table decoration at its best thus possibly will only attract certain nich of fashionable oriented customers (male or female) whose daily work activities does not require a portable computing which the price clearly reveals.

Well, I think DaCheese captures the all-american way of thinking in one sentence. Narrow-minded and blatantly ignorant, who cares, as long there are stupid comments about other countries that make DaCheese feel better about himself. Cool nick btw. It definitely makes sense. Cheesehead?

interesting analysis. dead wrong. but interesting. -

Well, I presume the previous two posts followed by dragonesse are owned by women
.... Beware Dragonesse.. there are more women surfing this forum than you and I thought
-
Please keep the name flinging and insults to a minimum of none, this forum is meant to be constructive and informative and putting others down helps neither.
-
Wow, you couldn't be more wrong. Next time before you get mad at someone for stating facts, please make sure you are right before trying to insult them.
I am merely stating an observation. I am from Europe myself (Germany) and I see English slogans that don't make much sense all the time. I also lived in Japan for some time and there the English slogans on consumer products make even less sense. That's just the way it is. Sorry if you feel ofended, but that's no reason to get cranky. -
are you kidding me with this c r a p? i feel so sorry for the woman who dates you. the average female is no stupider than the average male.
as for the laptop, BARF. they are trying to appeal to the "chic" factor and ripping people off at the same time. personally, as a FEMALE, i think the laptop is hideous. i wouldn't be caught dead with it. -
I hope I am not bringing down the wrath of the female species with this, but I also have the impression that many females would pay a premium for a chic notebook (notice that I neither make a value judgement about the trendiness of this specifc notebook nor any comment about the intelligence of the "average" female).
I alsways wondered why so many females are willing to pay $1500+ for a simple brown handbag (Louis Vuiton) when they can get nicer lookig one (from my point of view - a personal preference...please don't kill me) from Guess for $150 or so. -
ok, we must know different women! i wouldn't pay more than $45 for a purse, but i'd spend tons more on gadgets, laptops and cell phones.
maybe the women you know would pay more money for this piece of doodie, but not me! i don't really get the "technology for women" thing. i like the same stuff guys do.
-
let's steer back on topic folks and not insult each other, I'm just happy so many people from Europe, Asia and wherever else have chosen to learn English so we can all communicate in places such as this. And besides, I'm sure we can come up with plenty of embarassing ads and promotions U.S. companies have marketed overseas that made no sense or flat out insulted foreign countries (what was the name of that car Ford tried to sell in Mexico that translated to "dead" or "broken"?).
And, uhh, let's definitely steer clear of stereotyping genders n' stuff. -
i believe i've earned the right to make value judgments on other women.
i'm rather amused that popular opinion is i'm a guy, too. -
oops! i guess you are entitled.
-
ha, maybe add that disclaimer when making such a potentially flammatory comment that'd cause a near lynching of any male.
Shopping habits and intelligence don't really correspond. Heck, girls have overtaken guys in just about every type of subject scores in schools these days (yup, guys are getting dumber and girls are getting smarter according to standardized test results). -
i've made my observations. not that they apply universally, which is why i say the average woman (would typical have been a better word?). women who don't resemble my model of conception are pretty difficult to find, at least in my world.
-
Based on the people I know, I'd say many more women than men notice how things look - good or bad. If you don't pay attention to the way something looks, you won't notice the difference between something stylish and something ugly, so you'll just opt for whatever's cheaper.
Many LV bags are cheaper than $1500. As someone with a $200 LV handbag explainted to me, they last much longer than $50 LV knockoffs, you get free cleaning for life, and you can easily tell a fake by its inferior craftsmanship. Now that I know what to look for, I can't help but notice the fakes. I personally think LV style is ugly, but if you don't - that's why pay extra.
By definition, the average female is average. "Stupid" is a relative term.
So the ideal woman is difficult to find? No way, I thought ideal ("model") and average are the same thing. -
thats not at all what i said. and i'm more interested in an ideal man.
-
This would be 100X more funny if you were a female!
But yes I do agree. Females do not ALL know jack**** about computers. My GF can build you a custom desktop computer in a day and show you how to maintain it too. And they do not ALL pay ridiculous amounts for un-realistic things. On a much more contradictory basis, males spend FAR more money on "spur of the moment/mid-life crisis" purchases like cars and boats and motorcycles and the like. My dad spent a good $10,000USD on a few musical instruments on a whim when we were on vacation, my mother or sister has NEVER done anything like it.
On-Topic: The laptop is pretty ugly, but it's all an advertising/market ploy. -
By that same logic, I can make comments about other Europeans if I add that I am European as well?

I recently was seeing on some news show that women are scoring more than men in exams and some universities have lower admission standard for men than women in order to maintain diversity
.... I aqm guessing because gals are better than men at sitting tight in a corner and turning pages... they are less attracted to beer & they don't have sex all the timeon their minds.
Just to re-affirm that this post is about Laptops... I would surely date a gal who carries this Laptop 'coz it shows the gal is extremely girlie (a lot of benefits) and that she is relatively less mentally acute (all the more benefits)

Depends on the school. Where I went the female population scored lower on statistical measurements, but were accepted because the school was trying to increase the 4:1 male:female ratio.
Laptop for the LADIES :-)
