MSI Intros GX733 AMD Gaming Notebook
MSI has introduced its latest gaming notebook, the GX733. It features a 17-inch screen, AMD Turion X2 Ultra processor, and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 graphics card with 512MB of DDR3 VRAM. The GX733 has a "CPU Turbo Mode", which allows for overclocking at the touch of a button. The 17-inch screen has a proper 16:10 aspect ratio and 1920x1200 WUXGA resolution. Four speakers and a subwoofer plus an optional Blu-ray drive round out the multimedia features.
There is no information on pricing/availiability, but this one can't be too far off.

its not a gaming notebook IMO. give me a 4870
-
4800+ is gaming. anything less is a dud like my my Asus G2p with its almighty X1700 Woot! I can play at all min rez and still have crappy frames. This thing was called a 'gaming' notebook
They should just call it a multimedia notebook and be done with it. -
HD4670 DDR3 512MB. The one in n81vp has the HD4650 DDR3 on a 14.1 reaching almost 7k in 3d06. Maybe this one will reach nearly 8's. Since it has higher clocks. I don't know I might be wrong, this on should handle pretty much all games, except crysis offkourse or maybe In medium. Cuz the hd4650 handle crysis quite well on medium high.
-
Glad to see the 16:10. -

If the notebook HD 4670 is anything like the desktop version, it should be a great performer. I run an HD 4670 512MB DDR3 CrossFireX setup in my desktop and it tears apart most games at max settings/res. A single HD 4670 can play all games well, including Crysis at medium-high as noted. So while the GX733 may not be as much of a gaming notebook as the GT725, as far as AMD-based notebooks go, this one is quite good. It'll be interesting to see the price.

With turbo this can probably hit around 8000!! Maybe even more, we will have to wait and see the benchmarks.
-
I'm very impressed with the 4670's performance, especially considering it's a 128 bit interface card. I got about 6500 in 3DMark06 at 1280x1024 (~7100 at 1280x800), and it managed to run the Devil May Cry 4 benchmark at 1680x1050 on high details, at least 40 FPS across the board. Great card if you don't mind trading off some gaming power for better battery life and lower heat dissipation.

I hope they've fixed their keyboards. Smushed keys really shouldn't belong on a 17". My HP does a num pad just fine with full keys. That, and I refuse to use laptops with the fn key in the corner. I otherwise love MSIs.

Also i think this is great for gaming on the go considering the power to wattage ratio. -
It absolutely trounces the 9600M GT in DMC4:

ATI is kicking butt these days! Im thinking I may have to switch back for my next notebook, especially after the whole nvidia reusing old hardware to make new "generations" of cards.
-
Ouch @ those DMC4 benchmarks. The 4670 is looking like a beast.
-
The 4670 is a very strong card in terms of its place in the market. Great thing is that ATi is starting to produce very strong 128-bit cards, which is important because 128 bit cards consume much less power than 256-bit cards. Matter of fact, they already announced a 128-bit mobile card that could possibly outperform 90% of 256-bit cards out there.
-
I wonder why MSI went with the 4670 over the 4830. Is the 4830 that far from release?

Thanks alot TRF for those screens + rep.
-
msi should have used the ati 4860 mobility in this book
-
I dont really like ati gpu's. Nvidia gpu's preform way better in more newer games. Thats the only turn off of this laptop
-

Thats not necessarily true if you go to Notebookcheck and other sites that have reviewed the newer notebooks with ATI GPU's you will see that these newer 4000 cards can run anything like nvidia counter parts and better in some games.
Also The Devil May Cry Benchmark should be proof enough. -
