Each month we compile data for the number of times a particular notebook is viewed on this sites product pages to get an idea for what mainstream consumers are looking at and thinking about buying. In October the HP dv6000t raced to the top of the charts and HP overall dominated the top 10 list.

[IMG] 1. HP Pavilion dv6000t (New to top 10) - The dv6000t gained popularity in a big way in October! No wonder though. It's 15.4" widescreen form factor is the most popular type and the dv6000t is widely available in stores. The cool design of the dv6000t with its imprint finish and offering of a powerful Core 2 Duo processor and Nvidia 7400 graphics card make this Vista capable notebook a nice choice for a multimedia home PC. [IMG] 2. Toshiba Satellite A105 (Previously #1) - The Satellite A105 has fallen from its top spot held for 3 months. The A105 is flexible in configuration and can be had for a cheap price of $520 with a Celeron processor. It's a mainstream 15.4" screen notebook that's by far the most popular size notebook for first-time notebook buyers. The A105 can be configured with a Celeron, Core Solo, Core Duo, or Core 2 Duo processor -- how about that for choice! [IMG] 3. Sony VAIO SZ (Previously #3) - Performance in a small package, that sums up the Sony VAIO SZ. The bright glossy 13.3" display is powered by dedicated graphics and a Core Duo processor. Sony also introduced an SZ3 recently available with Core 2 Duo. The SZ has been popular for a long time and is holding very strong. Sony VAIO SZ Reviews | Sony VAIO SZ User Opinions

Asus did make the list last month. However ultimately, Asus doesn't have the same marketing power as HP, Dell, Sony, etc. You can go to any Best buy, CompUSA, and even OfficeMax and will find HP or Lenovo.. but never Asus.
seems like HP really dominanted this months list.

Asus is real popular in the forums and for discussion, but 2/3 of the traffic on this website is outside of the forums where people click around viewing notebooks in the database (which is what this is a measure of) and most mainstream buyers aren't aware of Asus. That's changing though. As Goren says, the A8Jm was on last month's top 10.

Interesting the A8Jm got knocked clear off the list this time around.

considering how many people are interested in the toshiba a100, it seems like one of the least talked about notebooks.

Dell Inspiron e1505 should be no.4 :)
Again about Asus, Asus did produce high quality notebooks, but that's pity only a few know about Asus. They should advertise more intense.
