I understand that HDD manufacturers were hit pretty hard and it not only takes time to rebuild those facilities but the PC OEMs have to get priority when it comes to shipping new drives.
Still, it certainly doesn't make it any less painful for consumers and small businesses who are stuck having to pay WAY more per GB for hard drives than we did before the Thailand floods.
That said, it's sort of ridiculous to complain about the price of a hard drive when some people in Thailand are still trying to put together the broken pieces of their lives.
On a happy note, most of the big production facilities in Thailand are back up and running and employing locals:
