    Samsung Develops Mini-SSD for Netbooks

    Samsung is developing a new mini Solid State Disk (SSD) with a SATA 3.0Gbps connector for the netbook market. The drive is 80% smaller than a traditional 2.5-inch notebook hard drive at 30 mm wide, 51mm high, 3.75mm thick, and a weight of 8.5g. The drive consumes 0.3 watts of power. According to Samsung, it has sequential read/write rates of 200/100MB/s. It will be available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB sizes.

    Wow! incredibly small, just wonder if they will be affordable, probably not. :mad:

    i thought 1.8" would fit a netbook, why so small?
