The FCC has posted a picture of the alleged Sony VAIO P netbook on its website. The P features an 8-inch display with an amazing 1600x768 resolution. Expect to see the notebook officially show up at CES 2009.

The picture may be photoshopped but the specs should be right. ;)

Is it even possible to have a 2:1 aspect ratio?

If the resolution could be believed I would have to think Via Nano.

Wow... I'm really excited to see this netbook. But something tells me it's not going to be "netbook cheap" LOL Plus such a high resolution on such a small screen is a bit overkill IMO. But the design should be great, something that's lacking in alot of netbooks IMO.

I'm guessing that Sony wanted something narrow enough to fit in your pocket, but still readable, thus going for the odd res...

It's gonna stick out though, unless you got deep pockets.
