Hey guys, my notebook just came and I figure I owe it to the forum to give a review since you helped me to buy find what I wanted in the first place.

Itll only be a basic review but Ill cover the main pros/cons:

    Cost: AU$880+postage off Ebay
Extras: 3 Gig Ram (free upgrade from 2 gig)

Speed: Yep, works fine. I dont use it for gaming so cant really test it on that front, but all my **** loads up nice and fast. I basically use open office, windows media player, outlook express and mozilla firefox and thats about it. so pretty basic office style functions and for that its perfect with good response rate.

    The mouse pad thingy:
In general, I hate mouse touch pads and once I get enough coin i'll be buying a USB wireless mouse. But until then ill have to deal with this one. ahving said that, it works fine and no problems yet. only issue i hav found is the scroll is sometimes non responsive, but im sure thats just because im still figuring out when and when im able to use it (sometimes the area i want to scroll in isnt highlighted and so a scroll bar shows up but it wont scroll until i click in the area and thenn scroll... meh), oh and also sometimes for random reasons in mozilla firefox if my finger is around the scroll area of the touch pad, the browser will medium-ize (you know, theres maximise when it goes full screen, minimize when it goes t the task bar... and the one in between... yeh it does that one)... so im not sure why yet but im sure theres something im doing that is the reason for that. oh well. but yeh no complaints, other than those lil mysteries the feel of the pad is good and the clicks of the mouse buttons feel good too.

    the SCreen:
If the screen is all black, the backlights shine through in the corners a lot. Particularly when you change viewing angles, the "black" goes all lit up and white-ish. Bit average but since I dont use much black in my screen ever (and seriously, besides System Startup, when do you either?), it doesnt bother me that much.

    Playing DVD MOvies:
I recently wnt to Bali and bought huge amounts of pirated DVDs (i know what you're thinking, "Illegal! Illegal!"...Biodome reference = 10 points). Anyway, I stuck one into the DVD-RW drive and away it went. it had a fine picture and i have no compliants about watching movies on it in the future. colour was fine, picture was fine.

    Sound:
All laptops have crap tinny speakers so no point revieiwng this. I just bought the Toshiba USB Multimedia hub and hooked it up to my G51 speakers and it sounds ****en awesome.

    Battery life:
Dont really know yet, ive been using it while plugged in for the most part. Seems to drain quite fast though, but then again how long is a laptop supposed to last? not sure. i reckon it could be out of gas in about 4 or 5 hours if i was using it constantly for playing movies or whatever. but since i dont use it constantly, it goes into hibernation quite readily and saves heaps of battery. so i guess im fine with it.

    Overall:
A good buy for a good price.

NB: Sorry about the amateurism of this review.
