This sounds very interesting, I'm definitely considering waiting a month or so to see how well the 8700M performs in real world benchmarks. $1805 is around £1000 but seeing as we always get ripped off in Britain, it'll probably retail at closer to £1300 here.

I'm hopinh this will lower the price of other 15.4" laptops that may have the 8700m GT.

Would it actually be the first 8700 laptop announced?

On Nvdia's site, the TOSHIBA SATELLITE x205 is listed to have the 8700mGT included.

With the 8700m out now, its sure to push laptops with the 8600GT down quite a lot. Probs in a couple of months the 8800m will be coming out aswell.

Tbh, I can't be bothered to keep waiting.

This and the Rock Xtreme 770 are the first to be announced. However, because the Rock is based on Clevo's M570RU, alot of other companies, like Sager, should be offering the notebook for sale in the coming weeks.

My guess is the G1s/G2s won't go down anytime soon. There was already a rev2 of the G1/G2 called the G1s/G2s, I don't see Asus releasing another revision on the G1/G2. It would only break their sales in the other revisions. With that said, and being the G1s/G2s the flagships in their gaming notebook segment, their prices should maintain for quite some time.

I.E: Both the Ferrari 5005 and the Asus VX series are still premium price even though their components are not so up-to-date anymore.
