This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Not exactly notebook news but general computing... Ubuntu Dapper Drake is out today. Grab yourself a .torrent, burn the .iso and stick it on an old laptop. You'll love it and you'll be amazed at how it can breathe new life into an old computer. I have it installing on a seven year old desktop for use as a server. I used a similar configuration with Breezy on it before.

    The new Ubiquity installer is hot! You can literally use Firefox and install the operating system at the same time.

    It looks promising, I have been the RC for a while. The only issues being that the MMC wouldnt work and setting up the Broadcom :mad: wifi and setting it up to use WPA security which is a royal pain.
