Wow, not as expensive as I thought. The 2 GHz dual core is only $70 more than the old 2 GHz centrino...nice :)

Despite the price of how much Intel are charging for the new CPUs, prices of Yonah laptops would still be >$200 higher than the Pentium-M equievelant. Why? Supply and demand. Don't expect them to be reasonably priced until Q2 2006.

Thank you very much for posting this. :)

Yeah, they are not as expensive as I thought either.

I like being on top of technology, but eventually I'm going to fall off the wave. ;) However, I don't think my Pentium M (533Mhz FSB, 2MB) is outdated at all. Is the Core Duo nice? Sure. Do I need it? Nope. I'm not a multitasker. I suppose that if I had dual cores, I might, but even then, it would be little more than I do now. A fast single core processor is great for what I do. :)

    Cheers guys

FOr me that means I might not need two computers. Whenever I run long statistical programs, I can basically forget about the computer until the program is finished. Hopefully a dual core will change that and let me surf, do some coding, or word processing while the program is running.

I am so excited...When do you think will most notebooks hit the market? I am guessing February would be the right time?

I agree...the core duo would be nice to have. If I was within my return policy time I might consider it because the Dell I9300 coupons work for the core duo computers.

I am thinking about getting a new laptop in a few months so then I will get the core duo and give my wife the I9300 P-M. Hehe :)

How would a Yonah work on a 400 MHz bus? Some processors do well, but would Yonah? Also, when should we expect someone to be selling just the Yonah dual core processor, something like the 2 Ghz version to buy alone?
