This time that challenger is YouTube itself, by way of a brand new subscription service called YouTube Red. For a fee of $9.99 per month, users can sign up to never again be forced to endure intrusive ads. But an ad-free experience isn’t all that YouTube Red brings in its box of tricks, which could prove to be key deciding factors for those wondering if YouTube as a pay service is worth the money.
