    Hello ppl,

I've a IFL 90 and was wondering to do an upgrade.
Is IFL 90 compatible with DDR2 800MhZ memory sticks?

    I've 2x 1 GB DDR2 667MhZ and I would like to buy 2x 2 GB DDR2 800MhZ.

    Will it work?

    Does it worth??

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure you can put 800MHz memory in there as long as it fits, but it will be downclocked to 667MHz.

dtd00d is correct. The 800MHz memory should work fine, but you get no advantages because it will downclock. Run 667Mhz if you can to eliminate any possible problems. The only advantage I can see is that the 800Mhz may be marginally cheaper, depending on where you buy it from.

Mmmm, how can the 800 be cheaper than the 667? As 99% of the laptop use the 667? That doesn't really make sense economically speaking.

I agree, the 800MHz should be more expensive.

Hence the bold "marginally." Historically, memory starts cheap and gets more expensive with time. Check any of the older ram on newegg (or any other comparable site.) Right now you can get both a stick of 1GB DDR2/800 and 667 for around $19. If I wanted to buy a stick of ram for my Toshiba M45 I would be out around $50. I sold two 256MB sticks of RIMM memory on ebay for $45 about a year ago (and that stuff is nearly 10 years old.)
