Hello everyone...i need some help here

I'm from Indonesia, as you can guest that is no zepto representative here.
Well, i bought Znote 6615WD through my friend who lives in UK.

I have a few question, here they are:
    1. What is the tv tuner type for 6615WD, is it analog or hybrid and which driver name (hardware name) i should install?
    2. Is their compatible battery for 6615WD? Perhaps from other brand like Acer or else...
    3. What is cache setting in BIOS? Is it for L2 cache or for CMOS...and what is the best setting for this? Should i set them all "write through"?

tq for everyone wiiling to help...

The questions are best answered by a 6615WD owner. Maybe they are all on holiday.

I doubt if you can find a compatible battery from another brand. They are usually made to fit the notebook's design. There are specialists who put new cells (which are standard) into old batteries.

I would hope that the optimum cache setting is whatever is the dafault.

By the way, there are Zepto dealers in Singapore and Australia.

    John

    Hi iyebo,

    Sorry for the late reply.

    1. Our current TV Tuner is apparently a TV Tuner with a Realtek chipset. I am not sure if it will work with a 6615WD as we have not tested it yet.

    2. We currently have stock in Singapore for the 6x24/6x25 batteries. Unfortunately they apparently don't work for the 6615WD. Like John said, it would be best to have a local repair shop in Indonesia open your battery casing and swap the cells. They have a lot of these here in Singapore.

Do email/contact us through mucro.asia for support as we are your Asian Representative for Zepto.

    Hi, iyepb0,

1 The types of TV tuners used are the Zepto Mediacenter M104 TV-tuner and the AverMedia M10D Hybrid MiniPCI TV tuner.
If I recall correctly, the Mediacenter M104 was used in the beginning of production and could only be used with Windows XP Media Center Edition.
Later on Zepto started selling the Hybrid MiniPCI tuner which could be used with all XP versions.
Drivers can still be found on Zepto's ftp server, ftp://ftp.zepto.dk, check under Notebooks/Discontinued_Models/Znote6615WD/Drivers.
I don't have a TV tuner myself, so I can't really offer more details or instructions though.

2 Have you tried contacting Zepto for the needed battery?
Maybe the've still got one lying around for the 6615.
I don't know what the cheapest option will be though, a new one from Denmark or cell replacement in Indonesia.

3 Can't help you with information on the BIOS settings, I simply don't know enough about it to give any advice there.
I use (and have always used) standard BIOS settings btw on BIOS 1.09v

    Cheers.

Hello there Baserk, tx for the help...
    It does help me some...

Well, i would like to ask u about TV tuner and BIOS version

For the tv tuner, i have the XP Pro SP2 CD along with the box not Xp media center. Is that mean i have the AverMedia M10D Hybrid MiniPCI TV tuner type? Cause there is no tv tuner device detected in device manager...

And about BIOS, i see u r using version 1.09v...
But, mine is 1.10 version...which one is the best?...cause i'm having a strange error when i plug my lan cable...
when i plug the cable, the touchpad is working bad, like it was to sensitive and clicking all the way...but if i unplug it,it goes normal...not happening if i use mouse...

Is that mean BIOS version 1.09v was an update?

    Hi iyepb0,

Well, when I wrote that I've always used BIOS 1.09v, I actually should have told you that I once have tried version 1.10.

Unfortunately that wasn't a success because version 1.10 fried my NIC so my motherboard had to be replaced.
Zepto removed BIOS 1.10 from the ftp-server later on after more people experienced the same issue, so that's why you can't find it there anymore.

I'd advice you to download and burn BIOS 1.09v and flash/downgrade your current BIOS version.
So no, 1.09v wasn't an upgrade. It's the best version available for the 6615WD afaik.

Thank you for Zepto people in SG...
Perhaps, i would like to have a stepby to your shop if i go to sg some other time.

My battery is not an issue yet, but i'm planning for the worst.

    tq everyone.

Another question comes up in my mind..

Who is producing battery for Zepto?
    What factory?
Perhaps, what laptop brand also produce their battery on the same factory with zeptos?

I'm questioning this becasue i've seen before a battery looks like my 6615WD batt...

    tq all

Hi sorry for the late reply as we are revamping our website to list more items on the website like games etc.

You can probably look up Benq and Toshiba batteries. Both of these companies actually use Inventec as their ODM.

    Hi Iyepb0,

I am afraid I can't help you, but I would be grateful if you could help me! I am interested in buying the Znote 6025WD, but I have read on some reviews for the Znote 6625WD that the keyboard isn't very good. And the same thing for your model? What is your opinion on the keyboard? As I am tempted to buy, but I have been told it is going to be replaced soon.

    Thank you!

    Best Regards,

    Dan.

ntdata, the keyboard on the 6x15WD/6x25WD are the same, so it's the same keyboard on the 6515WD, 6015WD, 6615WD, 6025WD and 6625WD. The 6025WD was originally released 1 year ago, so it's on its way out of Zeptos lineup as soon as the stock runs out.

ntdata, from my "feelling of touch" :D ...the keyboard sense soft but u cant make a soft press...u need to sure pressing the letter u want...dont do it "softly" with ur hands... :D

tx to ZeptoSG, i found that my 6615wd battery seems had a same shape with a benq s53 batt...look at this pict, the different was the metal part...

I've sent an email to Zepto UK, qestioning about my weird tv tuner that is not detected on XP Pro Sp2...no reply yet.
The real question is, Do i have a tv tuner or NOT? cause in my box i had the remote, the remote receiver, the antenna and jack....
Anyone would like to give me a comment on this?
Or, perhaps anyone can help me open up my zepto case, so i can look inside of it....

iyebp0, so you've sent a private message to ZeptoUK on here? Because if you have you will never get an answer back. The guy that used that account stopped working at Zepto a while back.

The TV tuner is located under the keyboard on the 6x15WD/6x25WD series so you would have to open up the machine fully to see if you have a TV tuner.
Did you buy the machine used? If so the previous owner might have had a USB TV tuner of some sort.

EDIT: About the battery: Apart from the metal connectors being different, there's also a difference in the plastic "arms" and the back edge is thicker on the 6x15/6x25WD battery.

Clarification: That email address wasn't ZeptoUK but one of the others.

See this for a quick guide on the keyboard removal. Also this for the 6024W, which may be slightly different.

I had to open my Znote 6615WD several times (to replace the keyboard, insert a tv tuner card...) and made some pictures. This is not an instruction on how to do it but a documentation of how I did it, so don't sue me...
