i saw the 1000 at compusa. the right side of the keyboard was warm (store had been open only 1.5 hours earlier). small comma and period keys.

while small and lightweight, and packed with features, the keyboard is something i just can't get over, so i'll have to shell out the bucks for an ibm...or hope the 4000 series keyboards are more to my liking.

Does anyone in these forums own the newly released 1000 series currently being sold only in CompUSA. If so, could you tell us about it please? Could you try to run some benchmarks maybe? How is the build quality and such?

You might want to check over in the Averatec forum ... main problem seems to be a flaky touchpad.
