    Hi,

I have an external LCD TV with native resolution of 1280x768 (widescreen).

I want to hook it to my 6224W via the VGA out (converted to DVI in the TV).

    I am running XP.

When I use the Nvidia control panel to set up my displays, it detects the TV, and presents me with the possible resolutions (which includes the desired 1280x768).

However, after I click apply, the TV sets to 1280x1024

I notice that in the WindowsXP display properties, the 1280x768 resolution is not available ... I assume that if it WAS, then this resolution would work.

I think this is more of an 8600M GT issue. Can anyone help?

Normally, the computer reads the resolution of the external device through the cable connection.

Have you used Fn+F3 to switch between the internal and external displays?

If you want to use both displays then you may need to make the external one the primary display.

I have not tried setting the external to the primary.

Is it not a driver issue that dictates the resolution?

If you are trying to display on both at the same time then I think the primary display will dictate the resolution. If you use Fn+F3 to switch to the external display then it should change to the correct resolution.

If you extend the display onto the external display then you can probably have each display at its own resolution.

    Give it a try.
