Hi guys , how do you find your resolution(1680 x 1050) on the 6625 Znote?
I'm interested in 2 things:
1. Is it too small to read on the desktop? general web surfing and stuff? How would you compare the 1680 x 1050 on a 15"4 with the 1900x1200 resolution on the 17". I've seen a few laptops with 1900x1200 on a 17' and it's too small.
2. What's the effect on gaming at non-native res ? ie. playing in 1280 x 800
Any input on this matter would help a lot in the decision of buying this laptop.
Thanks

I've moved away from 1680 x 1050 @ 15.4" because my eyes found it a little small, but my eyes have never been good. If you are happy reading 8 point printed text then you will find the screen OK. As noted in the 6625WD review, the display is good.
As for how does the size compare, here are some example pixel per inch values:
1680 x 1050 @ 15.4" = 128.7 ppi (pixels per inch)
1920 x 1200 @ 17" = 133.2 ppi (so slightly smaller)
1400 x 1050 @ 14.1" = 124.1ppi
1280 x 800 @ 12.1" = 124.8 ppi
1440 x 900 @ 15.4" = 110.3 ppi
1440 x 900 @ 14.1" = 120.4 ppi
1280 x 800 @ 15.4" = 98.0 ppi
1280 x 1024 @ 17" = 96.4 ppi (standard desktop monitor)
Windows default setting is 96ppi, at which 10 point print will actually be 10 point print on the screen. However, it could be argued that the actual size of a character is proportional to the inverse of the square of the ppi. This might explain why I found 1280 x 800 @ 12.1" to be too small but 1440 x 900 @ 14.1" is OK. 3.7% difference in size becomes 7.4% in area.
Gaming at non-native resolution will cause some fuzziness, but you will get increased speed.

John, thanks for your detailed answer! Much appreciated
Blackbird actually sent me a screen shot of this desktop at 1680x1050, and it looks ok. But the problem is that i am viewing it on a 20" 4:3 desktop monitor, and not sure how it looks in a 15.4 "frame" -
Here you go, and you can also change the font dpi to a larger size if you find it a bit too small

I've found resolution to be very personal. Best thing is to go to a store or something and check the different ones out. I for example love 1280x800 on my 15,4 and could never use anything higher, but that's just me. This is not because of bad eyesight, but I simply like it most

lol those images was so blurry you couldnt tell if its the screen or camera
but i own a 6625wd and run it on max resolution. I dont have any problems with reading any text. And iv been playing Battlefield 2 on non-native and its not any blurry at all. (have it on the middle res. maby 1280x1024).
No complains about the screen other than it has a few spots where it gets lighten up a bit more than the around (5 diff sizes, maby 10x15px) but you only notice them when the screen is totally black, even slight colors n they disappear. -

Hey i think he meant no offence! If your brother is in a such bad condition, you should fully consentrate on him and forget NBR for a while.

Tomorrow is another MRI for him, if its all clear they will discharge him this week, and by the looks of it I have high hopes it will be clear -
Thanks guys for the input on this matter,
Yes i agree about checking the res out before buying it.
Unfortunately in London i couldn't find any shop that has a 15.4 with 1680x1050 resolutionsdo you know of any?
