”We have had a clear goal to build further on our market leading position in the introduction of new technology first. Besides our focus on a stylish design, we have developed this notebook with leading performance and lowest weight to create the thinnest possible notebook PC. According to our customers these are key parameters whilst choosing a 17” notebook. ”, says Morten Kjærsgaard, COO, Zepto Computers A/S.
Zepto informs that the notebook will be based on the latest technology from Intel and NVIDIA, with support of Intels new 4 Core CPU’s amongst others. Introduction price is expected to start at around 1600 EURO and is meant to compete with notebooks like Dell XPS and Alienware.
I have to say that this is quite nice..
Not for me, because 17" notebooks aren't notebooks to me anymore..
But maybe in the future when I don't want a desktop anymore I could buy a 17" Zepto for replacement!
I'm just curious to the rest of the specifications but knowing Zepto that would be very very nice![]()
-
LOL CLB you are keen!
You beat me to it -
Gotcha!
-
let's hope it's not going to be flashy with all kinds of sick LEDs all over it, like the Asus gamer notebook! Skulls, paintings etc. all that ****
-
Mwah don't think so: ''Besides our focus on a stylish design''
-
I have seen the design studdy, and pictures of a sample of it and I must say that it looks quite nice. I can't say anything about the expected hardware configuration because it's still confidential, but it's probably going to give even the most expencive machines a run for there money.
-
*drool* you guys are putting off potential customers! now i wanna wait..
-
It would be kinda cool to have a quad core with 8800GTX to take to a lanparty, weighing just 3.4kg. While other carry their 10kg enourmus boxes and screens and keyboards you just put it down and push the powerbutton, and THEN start wire around
-
Aw I was hoping a 15.4" version would be announced as well so theres some competition to Alienware's m15x. That 3.4kg is really impressive though..
-
will it have the 8800 or what?
-
will it have the 8800m or what?3
EDIT: Sorry for double posting browser problem... -
I wonder if it will be pretty...
And what 17"ers are? There's the Asus W2 and.... and...? -
Dell XPS M1710?
Differen Alienware laptops/ Different XODD's laptops! -
Nah, those are all ugly.
-
It better have 8800GTX and Penryn if it's meant to compete...
-
36mm that is a inch and a half that is not the thinnest gaming laptop! The MBP is!
-
only problem is that you cant play allmost any games on Mac
-
Unless you install windows on it... Then you get a 17" PC with 8600M GT GDDR3
-
Yeah but i think they'll be using a stronger gfx card than 8600m gt... I would be disappointed if they use 8600m gt again...
-
NO WAY they're going to use 8600M GT. If they make a 17" they'll throw in a 8700M at least!
-
The announcement was about "latest nvidia" so ofc they wont use 8600 or 8700 cards in that 17" laptop.
Keep it on Zepto! Seems like I'll have an upgrade in the spring. -
They are the worlds leading notebookmanufactuar with new hardware...
They are the first with a 14,1" notebook with a 8600M GT...
They are the first with a 320GB 5400rpm'er HD in a notebook...
They are the first with 300MBIT wireless internet...
And so on, and so on...
So I'm convinced that they will put in the best videocard
that's on the planet on that moment in that new 17" notebook! -
Zepto, do you know as of now if it's possible to cram a 8800GTX into a 14"?
-
Forget it, 8800GTX will not fit in a 14" !!! Try reading the hardware and gaming forum
-
Some info at Hardware.info.nl says:
- Based on the Intel Quad Core
- Weight of 3,4kg
- Height of 36 mm
- Introduction date at before april 2008
The starting price will be 1600 euro... -
It's april soon!!
-
Is Zepto going to offer better specs than:
17,0"
8800GTX DDR3
1920x1200 pixels
BR / HD-DVDplayer
Just like the just presented: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=225978
Clevo M570TU 17" Gaming Notebook
Really Really Really freaking bizar :-s -
Rene S - Zepto Company Representative
Can't really comment on the specs of the upcoming 17", but that one looks nice
-
The hardware in that Clevo is not so impressing.
But HDMI, e-SATA and Blu-Ray looks nice. -
Have a look at this:

Seems decent enough to me. Especially the Part about the "Geforce 9800M GTX" being a possiblity. -
-
-
See my post. It clearly shows the specs of this laptop.
-
Clevo M860TU 15.4" Gaming Notebook
-
how is it not so impressive? lol...
-
-
-
Maybe Alienware and that's it.. -
And seeing how small the 8600 chip is, it cant be that difficult to fit a 8800 in a 15.4 incher. -
ahaa okay what you want...
A 8800GTX instead of a 8600M GT in the same housing doesn't impress you...
Hmm put a 8800GTX in my 6224W!! That has to fit also! And you work at Zepto :-s
A 8800GTX in a 15,4 housing not impressing you... pfff don't think about the temperatures or something like that :-s A 8800GTX is a absolute monster -
The 6224 is a 14.1 incher, not a 15.4.. So what you are saying makes no sense at all.
Remember, the 8800 mobile version is far less powerfull then the workstation version. So its not as huge as you might think. Furthermore, it's far more easy to make a good cooling solution in a 15.4 incher, then in a 14.1. -
-
I know that those are 14,1" and not 15,1" but I still havnt heard any of the users having 15,1" being actually happy about the way its being cooled.
That is one of the reasons why this will be my last Zepto laptop. -
-
Sorry for misunderstanding..
-
and than you are suddenly talking about 15,4" vs 14,1"
And much better cooling... with a 1,3" bigger housing...
341mm x 247mm x 27-39mm vs 355mm x 262mm x 27-39mm... -
You might be confused. But the cooling in the 6625 (15.4") is bigger then the cooling in the 6624 (14.1"), due to the extra space.
So it does not surprise me that you can fit a 8800 in a 15.4 incher.
But again, as i wrote.. It does not impress ME. -
Joe that's fine
-
8800m GTX = 3x 8600 GT, less power consumption
impressed yet? -
There has been 8800 GTX notebooks around since November last year. So that Clevo has made a notebook with a 8800 GTX does not impress me.
17" Zepto is pronounced!!!
