New owner question - maybe I'm missing something...
I didn't find a tab in the bios to control the amount of shared ram for the nvidia graphics, which I assumed was shared.
Then when i hit display properties tab of the display icon in the control panel and go to the adapter tab - it says that there is 256 mb of video ram.
Then when I right tab and hit properties on the my computer icon on the desktop it says that there is 960 mb or ram.
So, is this a shared ram card?
If so, Where can I control the amount of shared ram?
Why does it say on the display adapter field that I have 256 mb?

You should have decated video ram.
If there is a setting it will be in BIOS. -
Thank you for replying, but I haven't found a dedicated ram control in the bios, which is why I asked. Any ideas?

You will not find any control in the bios if it is deciated. Only if it is shared.

AFAIK, none of the 6100 series GPU's ever had dedicated memory. The 6150 in my Compaq uses shared memory only. As for as BIOS goes it is upto the manufacturer to enable/diable any of the controls.
