can't find it in control panel anywhere. want to use touchpad, with scroll ability, but not the clickability - prefer the buttons for that. plays havoc when trying to game on the move.

    ;)

Your touchpad's control panel sheet should have an option to "enable tapping." Uncheck this and you will turn off the ability to tap-click on the mousing surface.

i don't have a touchpad control panel option. I installed the drivers from the ftp site and it disabled the touchpad's scrolling function, so I had to roll back the drivers. It still reads as Synaptic etc etc, but no customising available.

was a self-install of Vista 64 bit, which has otherwise been pretty smooth sailing.

Hmmm...without having the driver software installed, there wouldn't be any way to disable tapping. Are you sure the updated driver didn't have a scroll configuration option?

you have to install the software as well as the drivers. I have Vista Ultimate running on my 6615WD, and I have a synaptics icon in the tray. From there I can enable/disable tapping, scroll speed, etc etc. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and/or software.

again, a simple solution to a simple question. This time the driver install (same drivers) left me in the bright shining sun - I be most pleased
