I have brought a 3150p back for a 2nd life. It is stock other than 640MB RAM.

I have 3 IP based cameras watching the exterior of my home. The software (VisionGS - love it) runs on the 3150p, 24X7. The notebook sits on top of a bookcase in my home office ... with a little extra help staying cool. The software uploads a single image from each camera to my web site every 5 minutes, plus each time motion is detected, sends me an email with a single image and records several seconds of video. I have a batch file move all the locally stored images to a big network drive each day. I am running an up to date XP Pro SP3. Because it's Pro, I access the notebook via RDP when necessary.

That's it. A simple job, but again, performed 24X7.
