Any one know of Averatec will ever make the 3200 or 3300 with a bright lcd? I'm deciding between the Compaq V2000, HP dv1000, and the Averatec 3300. I want a small notebook, but it must have the bright lcd option (can't stand normal lcds anymore, now that I've seen the bright ones). I would have snatched the 3200 up instantly if it had that option (also cannot stand it's 1024 max res).

Not likely. Averatec is a value brand that probably won't sell that technology until it's more cost effective.

You can try compaq's v2xxx computers, they are quite small, like the 3xxx, and they all have brightview. http://www.hp.ca/products/static/presario-notebooks/
