So this is a standard 3250 (AV3250H1-01) with what should be 512MB of RAM. WinXP and BIOS are only reporting ~200MB - what gives? The highest number for graphics "sharing" is 64MB, but that's nowhere near what I see... Any thought and ideas would be appreciated! :)

PS A-DATA module does read 512MB.

the system uses some of the ram for itself. without memory remaping windows wont be able to use the entire amount present.

do yourself a favor and get atleast 1gb of ram, and more preferably 2gb.

So you're telling me that the system uses ~250MB's internally? That seems bizarre, considering I've never seen anything like this before. What could it possibly be used for? Boards use some NVRAM and sometimes SRAM for housekeeping things but this is nutty...

Do any other laptop manufacturers do it?

Something's not right with yours. My 3250 HX01 shows 448mb - it is set to use 64 for the video - when I r-click on My Computer and choose Properties.
