Well, let me take a stab at it ... I have a 3250 so I don't know if it is going to be the same. Here's how it is in the 3250:
The drive is under the right palm rest and you have to raise the entire palmrest and trackpad panel - it does not have to be removed entirely.
To loosen this panel, there are seven screws below - 4 along the bottom front edge (one of these is behind a "void if removed" sticker). Further in from the front edge - about 2.5 inches, there are two more screws. The seventh one is hidden in the memory compartment, so you first have to remove the memory compartment cover.

Once you remove these seven screws, turn the lappy right side up and gently raise the palmrest/trackpad panel. The left and right corners by the keyboard are just a snap fit but they are tight.

When you raise the panel, you will see that the wires for the trackpad and speakers are restricting it. Use the memory cover to prop up the panel like the hood of a car.

Next look for the grey rubber spacer to the right of the hard drive and simply lift it off. You will notice a brown flat wire harness running over the drive. You do not have to remove this.

Carefully and slowly push the drive to the right by working on the sides of it alternately. In other words, walk it backwards out of the connector. Once it clears the connector, carefully slide it up and over the edge of the lappy.

    Good Luck.

I think it is the same as the 3270 so it would be right where Chutmsman said.
Click the averatec link in my sig and you will see some pics of right where it is :D
