    Hi:

Sometime in the last week or so, the right arrow and down arrow keys on my Averatec 3715 EH quit working.

    Frustrating.

I've run a few registry cleaning programs and that hasn't solved it.

Tried a system restore to an earlier date when they were working. That didn't help.

Do I need to pick up a new keyboard on eBay? (They're available.) Or is there some intermediary step, or something else software related that I should try?

Really don't want to do a harddrive reformat/reinstall, though that might help. It solved a lot of problems on my 3750 -- but set me back a month as I reinstalled and moved files and tried to remember long forgotten passwords and long misplaced software keys. I can't afford the downtime right now.

But really would like to get the down key and right arrow key working again.

    Thanks for any advice.

problems with specific keys are keyboard failures at least 9 times out of 10. doing anything to your software is likely only going to frustrate you. try replacing the keyboard first

I'm having the same problem with my Averatec 3250, the right & down arrow keys stopped working in addition to the period and comma keys. I figured it was a keyboard hardware problem but before setting out to purchase a replacement, I tried to disassemble the PC to see what was involved. That's where I got stuck, I couldn't figure out how to get the thing apart to access the keyboard. Can anyone steer me to a website with instructions or provide a quick How To? Thanks in advance -

The problem in keyboard connector - remove keyboard (small locks on the top and bottom of the keyboard) and check it.
