As the title says: This morning, everything went black again... same problem like the last 2, same symptoms.

I'm gonna try the oven trick with the geforce chip and see what gives. If anyone has an idea. The last repair was only 2 months ago. But now they are bankrupt goddamnit.

Would sending a letter to the bankrupcy officer (or what's his name :) )help?

edit: OK peeps, you WILL NEVER BELIEVE THIS. I did the oven trick + i removed most of the creempie paste around my chips (because there was waaaay to much on it), and guess what.... I'm typing on my zepto 6625wd at this moment. THE OVEN TRICK WORKS!!!!

I wonder if they do the same thing at the repair shop

do a google check: gfx card oven trick. It's basically warming the contact points of your videocard, in order to melt and fix possible issues

Dammit, the gfx in my 6224 just broke again for the 3. time!
    - and this time Zepto isn't around to replace it. Grr

I'm probably gonna try the oven trick as a last resort

How is that working with an notebook? You put the whole board + gpu into the oven?

Is the problem then only fixed temporary or longer? I also have the 8600M GT issue..

I dont know how exactly how it works, but yes, I guess I would put the whole board in the oven and hope the best.

However, I have been able to turn on the computer without the split screen and artifacts. So now I can use it, and put it in standby and still use it afterwards. Reboots are however tricky, as that can cause the defect to occur!
It seems to me, that it's most likely to work if the computer is hot - but not too hot.

I experienced something similar. After weeks believing that my zepto was dead I booted it with any artifacts, but that only lasted for 2-3 hours and it get worse.

Just as the problem seemed to be tolerable, the computer froze while being used, and the screen hasn't come on since.
So... now I'm the proud owner of a nice computer with a completely dead grafx!

    Let the bids begin...!

I went to a computer store and they did the "oven trick" professionally and it worked! I have one year warranty and they also enhanced the cooling manually a bit adding cupper to the heatpipe and exchanging the thermal grease. I will reduce the stress on my gfx and hope that it will not happen again. It cost me around 100€.

No, not yet. I will when I get the time, if no other options have emerged.

    BREAKING NEWS
Last night I started disassembling the computer, with the intention of doing the oven trick with the whole motherboard. It did however seem too difficult, so instead I thought about using a hairdryer or heat gun to warm the GPU. Unfortunately I didn't have any of these electrical devices to my disposal, so what else can you do, to heat up the GPU? Remove the cooling profile and turn on the computer!

It had the computer on for about 2 minutes, whereafter I restarted the computer, and the display was back!!

I'm pretty sure it's not gonna last for ever, but right now everything is good :)

Yeah, its just that the graphic chip looses contact with the motherboard. I am curious how long my and your laptop will last :p

The trick with removing the cooling profile has stopped working. Now the computer just shuts down by itself after a few minutes without the profile, without fixing the display when rebooted.

Anyone who can recommend a more permanent solution?

I'm sorry to say, but by the looks of it the only permanent solution is to buy a new notebook. You'll never get this problem solved on the current notebook.

I just performed the oven trick with the disassembled motherboard, and the computer lives again!

First I baked it like 5 minutes with tinfoil surrounding the board letting only the GPU being visible, connected the most vital connections and turned on the computer. It did turn on, but still no display.
Second I redid the operation this time only baking it for about 8 minutes, and this the the display lit up.

I have now assembled the computer, and it all seems to work :)
