    Hi all,

If you are using a AV4265 and are willing to help me out with the BIOS file, please let me know. I need someone to backup his BIOS firmware and send it to me so that I can restore my BIOS. I accidentally flashed my BIOS with a uniwill BIOS and now the notebook does not support USB 2.0 anymore. Only USB 1.1!

Please let me know. Thanks again!

PS: I thought that the uniwill BIOS will prompt before flashing, and possibly allow me to save the old BIOS. Unfortunately, the moment I ran it, it started flashing, without as much as a Y/N prompt! grrr ....

That sounds like what I did a year ago on a 6100. At least yours only affected the usb, mine was video. Took 3 weeks to locate 1. Post your request on averatec & uniwill's forum too. What I did was pm any person that had the same model. Eventually someone responded, saying he had a copy of the bios. Apparently Canada laws are different. The biggest problem I had was finding a user with a usb floppy drive, or Nero to burn a bootable CD. Users must use AMIFLASH.exe in order to read the current BIOS. The other as you found out over writes without any option to read.

    Good Look on locating one.

    Thanks for your reply! :)

I tried posting on averatecforums.com since early this year ... not consistently though, since 1) I didn't want to become a nuisance and 2) I gradually became resigned to my lot. :(

But thanks for your suggestion and reply! Gives me a bit of encouragement. I think I just got a reply from someone ... and my inbox is FULL! *bummer*
