    5400 Series CD/DVD

    Can anyone tell me which DVD writer comes in the 5400 series - or better yet, give me an idea of a suitable replacement for a defective DVD drive? I need to restore the HDD in a 5400 I inherited, but the DVD writer doesn't function properly.

    Also, if anyone has replaced the DVD drive in one of the 5400 series models, please give me some guidance on how to remove the drive or where I can find removal/installation directions.

    It is a Lite-on dvd burner, had to replace mine with ssw 8015s, don't make the model anymore, just had to take of the face plate and put on the old one from the other dvd burner, payed about $60 at zipzoomfly.com :D
