My Averatek 5400 has worked well for some years. I have been using Puppy Linux on my other machine and want to use it on the Averatec 5400. The Linux Live CD boots just fine. However, it will not boot from the memory stick. I changed the boot order in the BIOS with no luck. The same stick has been tried in a Dell and Toshiba laptop and boots up Linux as expected.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Bob W.

Check if booting from an external device is enabled. On my lappy, I can change the boot order, but there is also a separate option to boot from an external device.
