I just bought a 6024W intended for audio work since it has TI chipset for firewire and cardbus but soon discovered it has DPC latency problems. I'm getting random spikes that causes dropouts or clicks when running realtime audio apps like Ableton Live at low latencies. After some googling I ended up here only to find that this seems to be a problem with the 6x24 line. However not as bad as with the 6625W.
My question is, since the 6625W got a new bios specifically addressing the DPC latency problem, is it likely that the 6X24 line will get a new bios addressing this too?

It is six months since the last BIOS update for the 6024W was released and there has been no evidence of any further updates in the pipeline.
It is quite possible that one of the earlier BIOSes has less of a latency problem since fixes for problems introduced new bugs. Did you try the oldest BIOS on the Zepto download site?

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I did try all three bioses on the Zepto ftp-site but as keule said - no difference. Tried messing with all kinds of settings in the bios too but no real difference. Thought there was a slight improvement when setting the OS in the bios to "other" instead of XP. However with that setting, when I exit my audio app, the DPC sky rockets and stays there until I restart the app. Very strange.
6024W DPC latency problem - new bios in the works?
