    Tman7777,

I'm not absolutely sure about the S-video, but whenever you connect an external monitor to the Averatec backm panel, you can then cycle the output to either the monitor, LCD display, or both, using the blue function key and F4. I have not tried it, but the s-video may be activated the same way. Try using the blue Fn + F4 keys to cycle the video and see if you don't get something displayed on your s-video input device (TV I presume). Let us all know if that works!

No, the Fn + F4 is for the external monitor only... I can get the s-video to run to my TV with a straight s-video cable by turning on the Display - Settings - Use as 2nd monitor function, but I can't make my TV my primary monitor or use a s-video to RCA converter for my older TV. So right now I can watch a DVD if I drag it to the 2nd monitor but I can't play games or use the adaptor. Pleaze Help!

go under displays in the advanced tab, turn on the tv display, click apply. then if you want, you can turn off the laptop display and the tv should be the main monitor, and everything should run fine, i don't know about dvd's because of the annoying scrambling feature built in. hope this helps.

When I trun off my laptop screen, I loose the S-Video as well. I was told that there was an option in the display/settings to make the s-video my 'primary monitor' but that is greyed out as an option. I can watch DVDs and other movies fine on my TV. I drag windows media player over to my tv and then hit alt+enter to maximize the screen on my TV. The problem is that I can't drag video games over to my TV. Does anyone know why/how to fix this?

another way is to connect the s video before you boot up the computer, and it should automatically turn on. also, under the displays tab under advanced, under the symbols, click the circle symbol button under the tv icon. this will set the tv as the primary display. click apply. you should now be able to turn off the laptop display and use the tv as your desktop, it should work fully for video, games, anything. i know, i have done it a couple of times now.
