6130 bios beeps

Hello again,

I wanted to thank everybody for the good postings that helped me choose my laptop pc. I'm happy with this machine and the price i paid for it. I would recomend to anyone thinking about purchasing a laptop to seriously cosider the averatec brand. I've been an owner for three months now and everything has been running smooth so far pluss i can play a few games which keeps me content for the time being.

One thing that bothers me is that everytime i boot up i hear two beeps before the normal loud beep that always comes. I don't recall hearing this before installing the omega drivers so it must be something that i've changed or done. If anyone has an answer to my problem i would apperciate you help.

I hear the same thing. I did the omega drivers but I had other issues so I restored to original but now it is one small beep and one loud one.

 

These beeps are USB devices being recognized. I have 4 USB devices, 4 small beeps, one loud beep.

I have Omega's drivers installed...and all my USB ports work fine, and all i get is one quick beep!

I just got done reviewing the specs, and they dont mention what the beeps indacate.

 

I researched this a little further and found that Uniwill has some BIOS upgrades that address this issue.....

Now, i'll say the same thing here as i did in another post, I CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR BAD BIOS FLASHES. Please just reference the info and go from there.

Are you sure those r the bios drivers for the 6130? like, absolutely positive? and also, is there a way 2 do a backup of the bios like on ASUS/MSI mobos?

has ANYONE done it? including urself?

1) Am i sure these are for the 6130? Honestly, no. I ran Sandra and i know the BIOS is AMI (american megatrends inc) 1.00, and the mobo is Uniwill. But i'm not 100% positive..i'm offering the info as mearly as research tool
2) Is there a way to backup the BIOS? You bet!! and I recomemd it as a CYA.
3) Have I done it? If you mean flash the BIOS, no. I have no reason to do anthing that extreme. If you mean backup the BIOS, yes.

AND, i'd like to thank wipeout for the warning...this type of manuver is very risky.

 

just plug in your headphone jack. this is temporary fix. so no one around you can hear that loud beep.
