So when I go to turn on my computer, the disk read error pops up. Went forum searching and have so far discovered that the hard drive is physically fine and that it is connected properly. I read that one way to fix this problem was to get the manufacturer disks that came with the computer and use windows repair on it. However, the disks that averatec supplies do not have an option to try and repair the system files already on the hard drive. I suppose that if worse comes to worse I can simply reformat the drive, but if anyone has any ideas on how to repair the problem without wiping out all of my data I would really appreciate it.
